COLUMBAN MISSIONARIES

Since 1918, the year of its foundation, the Missionary Society of St. Columban has been an international Catholic missionary society that crosses the boundaries of culture and religion to live and share the Gospel of Jesus through:
- Working and sharing life with the poor and the excluded.
- Seeking justice and dignity for all, especially migrants.
- Protecting biodiversity and working for the respect and care of the Earth.
- Accompanying and strengthening faith communities in the local Church.
- Promoting dialogue between Christians and people of other religions.
- Cultivating a culture of peace and nonviolence.
- Protecting children, youth, and vulnerable adults by promoting safe environments in the places where we serve.
The Columban mission calls us to a spirituality of Pilgrims for Christ, in constant listening to the will of God who walks among His people to make the Kingdom of God a reality in today’s society.
So that we may proclaim together with Jesus:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
(Luke 4:18)
